Ten ADSRI lecturers taught in the two week (29 September - 10 October 2014) intensive short course program in Social and Demographic Research Methods for 12 Yangon University academics. The program is funded under the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Global Program for Development.
The Yangon University academics will be the foundation staff for the newly established Population Research Centre at Yangon University which is intending to introduce demography as an academic discipline in its curriculum.
There will be a further three cohorts of academic staff from Yangon University coming to ADSRI in 2015-2016 under the same arrangements. They will build up the research capacity of Yangon University, and especially its social and demographic research.
